Gyokutai-Ko is one of the 72 techniques of the Shaolin. It is a secret technique that require one to be extremely obese, because of this training to master it involves many techniques similar to Sumo training techniques. Despite appearances the Gyokutai-Ko is an Internal Martial Arts technique. While external training of the muscles and flesh is important the technique focuses mainly on internal reinforcement with breathing techniques. Gyokutai-Ko essentially allows the user to see their body as a mass of energy granting them complete control of it enabling them to stretch or shrink, harden or soften themselves. The most used application of this technique is a grappling clinch hold and stand-up grappling position where the arms are wrapped around the opponent opponent's chest; with both of the opponents arms pinned to the opponent's body. The hands are locked around the opponent and the opponent's back is held tightly to the chest. This application crushes opponent’s skeleton as their body is literally absorbed into user’s flesh like an amoeba. In addition the technique can also be used to change the trajectory of ki attacks by using the body as a shield. In the entire history of Shaolin only one man has ever mastered this technique.
