Nadashinyou-ryuu (灘心陽流, Nadashinyō-ryū; literally: "Open Sea Heart-Yang Style") is a martial arts technique that the Nadashinkage-ryuu was based off of. It is currently only known to be practiced by the Kuroda family.[1]

Overview[]

History[]

There were once two notorious sword experts known as "Yagyuu of The East" and "Marume of The West". The Marume in question was Nagayoshi Marume, guardian of the Imperial Archives, founder of The School of Shinkage, who developed an even more effective method of "Ryuugi Uradachi" Combat (Traditional Reversd Sword) or "Ninpou" (The Law of Concealment) to which was initialized by Nobutsuna Kami, Ise's protector, thus creating The "Shinkage-Tai-Sha". Afterwards, at the beginning of the Edo era (Beginning of the 17th century), a known bargainer who had become rich in the exterior maritime business accredited by the Shogunat, Kishuusai Kuroda, isolated the part of "combat with bare hands" of the "Shinkage-Tai-Sha" to make out of it an independent system in which he introduced additional Chinese combat techniques, bringing to completion The "Art of Life and Death".

Then came its copy the Nadashinkage. The Nadashinyou and the Nadashinkage are the light and darkness of a common martial art. During the Second World War the school of Nadashinyou was charged with protecting a certain general in the field army. The School of Nadashinkage however, had a brigade of assassins unconcerned with special services.[1]

The Nadashinyou has been passed down from generation to generation ever since the seventeenth century. Started by a bargainer named Kishuusai Kuroda it has been passed down to the current time, to its heir Mitsuhide Kuroda. It is used in Mitsuhide's match against Kiichi in which he only displayed the Nadashinyou's technique of the Hashin Shou.[1][2]
